The Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation hosted its first Philly Gala on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the Lucy by Cescaphe. There were 182 people at the event, which raised over $135,000 for one of the foundation’s three ministries: Thy Kingdom Crumb.

“What a great night! We’ve been talking about doing an event in Philly to support Thy Kingdom Crumb’s mission for a long time, and to finally see it executed was special. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the support we received was incredible,” said Wentz, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Each of the 182 people in attendance were given a photo opportunity with Carson upon arrival. The event featured 58 silent and live auction items, including signed memorabilia, merchandise and unique fan experiences.

The Philly Gala was emceed by Rob Maaddi, a writer for the Associated Press and author of “Birds of Pray.” The program included a video about the AO1 Foundation and two question-and-answer sessions with special guests: Pastor Kyle Horner and Carson Wentz. Horner is the senior pastor of The Connect Church and a board member of Thy Kingdom Crumb.

Founded in 2018 as a partnership between The Connect Church and the AO1 Foundation, Thy Kingdom Crumb (TKC) is a mobile food truck that exists to demonstrate the love of God and to infuse His hope by feeding people and uplifting communities. In less than a year of operation, TKC has served over 7,500 meals.

“My wife and I had been dreaming about a food truck for eight or nine years before meeting Carson, and to see what’s happening now through Thy Kingdom Crumb, you can’t explain it. God is moving through TKC, there’s no doubt about that,” said Horner.

The AO1 Foundation was founded in 2017 with the mission of uplifting individuals and communities around the world by demonstrating God’s love for His people. That mission is executed through three ministries: Thy Kingdom Crumb, Outdoor Ministry and the Haiti Sports Complex.
